Peterloo: Voices, Sabres and Silence

Join author Graham Phythian for an evening of readings and music to celebrate the launch of his new book. Graham has drawn extensively on archives, published works, and interviews with descendants of people who were present at Peterloo. He has spent over three years researching the topic, revisiting well known sources – as well as tracking down several less obvious ones – to create a new narrative of the massacre and its aftermath.

Graham is a retired teacher who has a great interest in local history. He has written a local history column for the South Manchester Reporter and is a regular contributor to Soccer History magazine. He is the author of eight books on regional and sport history, including and Manchester at War (2014) and Blitz Britain: Manchester & Salford (2015), both published by The History Press. He lives in Chorlton.
